We celebrated Easter in PA this year. I was anxious to see my new niece, Trinity and Grammie was anxious to see her favorite grandkids (Just kidding - about the favorite part!).
We traveled out on Friday, realized half way thru the drive that the kids had put DVDs into the DVD player - too many of them! So no movies for them on the trip - and it actually worked out ok after the initial tears. We had dinner at Grammie's house and left the kids there for the night.
Kris and I are running in Flying Pig half marathon in a few weeks and we wanted to do a training run at the farm, where we would have the closest elevation changes to the actual race. We ran the course Kris had mapped out in the morning (Kevin bailed on us). I'm gloating, but I beat Kris by 4 minutes! Of course, I get a lot more training in since I have day care at the gym and can go during the day! We were exhausted by the end and so glad to see Katie and Kara (nieces) waiting for us. After resting and stretching, we showered and headed back to Grammie's house.
The kids had done well for the night and were happy to see us. We had a full Easter meal at Grammie's with Kevin and the kids (Amy was sleeping and working). Kelli, Rick and baby Trinity made it over a little later. The kids enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in the yard - which they had been really looking forward to. After all that, we were on our way to the farm for the next two days of our trip (see Happy Easter part 2 for details).
