We as usual go crazy over the summer with at least 3 trips to PA and one week long vacation in MI. So here are the highlights.
We went to PA for July 4th. We spent one day at the Raystown Pool and Splashpark. Kris's mom came with us to enjoy the sunshine. We spent most of the day there and had a great time. Prior to getting to the park, we visited Kris's grandmother who was in the hospital because of a fall and break to her foot. Luckily, she is in good spirits!
While on the way from the hospital (which was in Happy Valley), we stopped to see the Joe Paterno statue. Which for us was lucky, since it was taken down last week. I think Kris will treasure this picture.
We enjoyed our time in PA with our July 4th picnic which had the added Lions club pool party thrown in. Then it was followed by Kevin's wonderful fireworks.
We got home and got to work on Nick's next step to being a big boy! We took down his crib. He had slept once in the big bed, but preferred the crib. When we asked him about our vacation and whether or not he wanted us to bring the pack n play, he said no. So to a big bed we needed to go. He did really well - although seemed a little confused about why in the world we were taking the crib away. Now he's a proud almost big boy!
We also took a trip the zoo sometime in the last few weeks. The kids really enjoyed the time there and were so excited to be able to ride the train and merry go round. They even made me go in the World of Insects.
We went on our vacation last week (which will be in a separate post). Ryan had a great idea on Friday night before we left. He wanted to go on a bike ride. It was a wonderful way to enjoy our night!
