First Days for Emma

Emma had two first days this week. On Sunday, she had her first day of Sunday school. We had waited for Ryan to move to the Elementary class before we started her. Since that happened last weekend, she was able to start. She was very excited and had a great time making a piggy bank and a little story book. She even decided to attend church, but got a little restless after about 40 minutes.
On Tuesday, Emma had her first day of preschool. We had met her teacher last week, so she had a friendly face to find. While she seemed a little nervous at home, she acted like a pro when we got there. We went to the potty, then found her classroom. She went right in and hung up her coat and backpack (yes, cold enough to need a coat - two days after 100 degree temps). Then, Emma moved to the center of the classroom and took a look around. And then she told me I could leave!
While she was in class, Nick and I went to the gym and took in a toddler library class. A first for Nick. He asked often for Emma. Very loudly as if she was just around the corner. He really enjoyed the class, clapping along and listening to the stories.

We picked Emma up after her three hours. She was happy, but untalkative. She said she would like to wait until we got home to tell us about her day. She enjoyed it, we found out later, but couldn't pinpoint a favorite time. So we will have to see what happens on Thursday!
In other news, my parents made a surprise trip down here to visit for my birthday. We spent the weekend hanging out at home and going out to eat. The kids were excited to see them (as was I). My birthday weekend was great. And I'm enjoying some of the wonderful gifts (the pictures here are from my new camera thanks to Kris).
We also had probably our last trip to the waterpark at our gym. So we took some pictures to commemorate the time! We also got to attend St. Cecilia's Labor Day festival. We attempted to go on Sunday, but due to rain and Emma not taking a nap, it was postponed until Monday. I was a hit working the $25 for $.25 booth. Yes, I am able to yell and get little old ladies to spend some quarters. We had chicken dinner there and the kids rode as many rides as possible. It ended a wonderful weekend.
