Emma has really taken off with her walking. Her crawling has been minimized to almost non-existent. At first she was walking with a march - knees up. But has calmed that down a little. Now it looks like a cute waddle. She's even getting a little faster, which usually makes her fall. We are so proud of her walking. She especially loves walking in the water at the waterpark. It must be nice to have the water cushion her fall.
A few days ago, Emma fell down the stairs. The current count for falling down the stairs in our house is Ryan 3 - Emma 2. And the responsibility factor (who was in charge not who made them fall down the stairs) is Kristin 3 - Kris 1 - Nana 1. This time Emma was coming up from the basement by herself. I don't know if she got distracted or something, but it sounded like she fell about half way down. She got an awful rug burn along her nose and a bloody nose from it. The picture above is from the day after, but it looked much worse the next day. On Friday, we went to the pool and got it wet where she wiped at it and pulled half the scab off. We're just hoping it heals soon!
I have finished my spring cleaning! Finally! I started at the beginning of March but have slacked off for a long time now. Ryan helped me clean the kitchen for the last two weeks especially with the cupboards. When we finished we made a celebratory trip to Cold Stone.
Last weekend, Kris ran in a 5k race for our local library. He did his greatest time ever, but was still disappointed not to finish in the time he really wanted. We were very proud of him regardless. Ryan says that he's going to run someday and we get to come watch him! At this race, we were able to see him at 4 points of the race, which made the race go fast and kept the kids busy. After the race, we walked to the Covington park and let the kids play at the playground.
And for an update on the potty. Ryan is doing well with the potty training. He still puts up a littel fight about doing it. But sometimes he'll sit for half an hour to try to poop and not want to get up when we say he's done trying. He's had 2 days that were accident free, however today was not one of them. He is still using pullups at nap and nighttime and has been try once both times. Because he doesn't just go to sleep and has a hard time understanding that he can leave his room, we just don't trust it. He has only once told me he had to go potty without me asking. Even when I ask, he won't say yes. He'll either say no or 1 minute. He just doesn't want to stop whatever he's doing - even if he's not doing anything!
